Greeting Scholars & Parents!!

Hope the school year has gotten started as smooth as possible, and I wanted to give you all a little time to adjust back into the swing of things before we get started.

Well, class of 2023 it is your time to shine!! I want to ensure this year is a success for you and as stress free as possible. Below you will find some very important dates. Be sure to save these to your calendars!!

  • September 9th: Classic College & Career Fair 9 a.m., Pipkin Building at Tiger Lane/Liberty Park. Presented by the City of Memphis Office of Youth Services. Regional college and university representatives will be available to provide information about attending college. For information and a list of participating schools, contact Seria Ross at (901) 636-6264 or email seria.ross@memphistn.gov. Visit online at www.cityofmemphisyouth.org. Free admission.
  • November 1: Tennessee Promise deadline. TN Promise provides students a last dollar scholarship, meaning the scholarship may cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees not covered by the federal Pell grant, the HOPE Scholarship, or the Tennessee Student Assistance Award at any of the state’s 13 community colleges or 27 colleges of applied technology. Students may also use the scholarship at other eligible public or private four-year institutions offering an associate degree, but at these institutions the award would be capped at the average cost of tuition and mandatory fees at the community

  • December 2: All admission applications and required documents(transcripts, test scores, personal statements, etc.) should be submitted. To make this process simpler, utilize the Common Application and the Black Common Application (HBCUs only).

  • December 15: UT Promise deadline. UT Promise is an undergraduate scholarship program guaranteeing free tuition and mandatory fees for qualifying Tennessee residents attending UT’s campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin, Memphis and Pulaski.
